My Journey So Far
The youngest of four children born and raised near Manchester in the North West of England.

I’m an overthinker and worry about most things even when I know I shouldn’t.
Here and there though, I remember that sometimes things do go OK and that life is in fact a wonderful and precious gift.
I believe in love above everything else and the power and magic that it possesses.
I’ve always classed myself as an ‘optimistic pessimist’ – I always prepare for the worst to happen but secretly maintain the hope that everything will be OK.
There are days when I do really well, I work hard, I’m in a good place and get stuff done, and then there are days when I don’t.
Life is not straightforward all the time. I believe that we all need to cut ourselves a little bit of slack for those times when things just don’t seem to flow. This is natural, this is just part of being a normal human being.
There will be ups and there will be downs, but if you can look at how far you’ve come already, you will see that you can get through those tough times.
We should treat others how we would like to be treated ourselves, with respect and kindness. We can all like, love, follow or choose different things. Just because something is different to what we would choose, doesn’t make it wrong, it’s just different.
Different is good, different is essential, different stimulates creativity and solution finding.
My poetry is written, in the main, using very ordinary, straightforward words. I want the meaning and feeling of each poem to be readily accessible. I don’t want anyone to struggle over ‘what is this poem trying to say to me?’, I want them to understand it there and then in simple terms that they can relate to.
My poems help me to work through some of the things that I’ve encountered and I hope that they may also help others in some way.
Let’s face it, we all need some help here and there, even if we don’t like to admit it.
Finally, thanks for stopping on by, I hope you have a good day!
